JEE-NEET EXAM INFORMATION

What is the IIT JEE exam?

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is the entrance exam conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) for admissions to government and private engineering institutes. Students who passed or appeared in the class XII exam (or equivalent exams) from a recognized board are eligible to apply for the JEE exams. There are two levels; JEE Main and JEE Advanced through which students get admissions in IITs, NITs CFTIs, and other institutes for studying the graduation, integrated, diploma or dual courses like B.E., B.Tech, B.Arch, etc. The questions are framed from the XI and XII syllabus of mathematics, physics and chemistry, having equal weightage in the exam.

What is the NEET exam?

Another national-level entrance exam conducted by the NTA is the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Students seeking to get into government and private medical and dental colleges have to appear in the NEET exam. There is no upper age limit set by the authorities. However, every student has to satisfy the minimum educational qualification, i.e., should be a class XII student or have passed the board exam/equivalent exam from a recognized board. Students have to prepare for the exam based on the syllabus of classes XI and XII mentioned for physics, chemistry and biology subjects.

How to prepare for the NEET/JEE exam?

  1. NEET and JEE are considered the toughest exams in India to qualify for due to the availability of limited seats in prestigious institutions. The NEET and JEE exam paper is based on the syllabus prescribed by the examination body in classes XI and XII.
  2. Students appearing in these exams need to be thorough with the NCERT of both classes. It is best to practice as much as one can by solving PYQs (Previous Years’ Question Papers), reference books, mock papers, practice sheets, and sample papers.
  3. Some students get admitted to various coaching institutes for their preparations. These days students prefer online coaching for NEET/JEE, which provides them with all the educational support required.
